/June Rain/ Can Stop Crying Out for English Translation
Seif Salmawy, managing director of Bloomsbury Qatar Foundation Publishing (BQFP), says that BQFP and Lebanese author Jabbour Douaihy have just finalized a contract, and the young house will bring out June Rain in English.
That’s after Michael Young wrote in The National that the novel, shortlisted for the inaugural Arabic Booker, “cries out for an English translation.” Oh, and I repeated the cry here.
