Have an Arab or Arabic Literary Project? Apply for Funds Now

The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) is looking to fund projects that focus on “[r]esearch, writing and publishing of literary works, including novels, short stories, poetry, translations and biographies, in print and online.” They’re funding performing and visual artists, too.

The AFAC’s first open call of 2012 is for artists in three general categories: Literature, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.

This call is “exclusively for Arab candidates” whose projects target viewers or readers in Arab nations. However, the grant guidelines state that anyone is eligible to apply, “regardless of age, years of experience, nationality, country of residence (Arab world and abroad), ethnicity, religion or any other factor.”

So, if in doubt, inquire.

The deadline is May 7, 2012. To start the application process, go here.
