Win a Signed Copy of Raba’i Al-Madhoun’s ‘Lady from Tel Aviv’

You can win a signed copy of al-Madhoun’s International Prize for Arabic Fiction-shortlisted Lady from Tel Aviv, trans. Elliott Colla, by answering just one small question:

lady_from_TAAnd, the question is:

What is your favourite contemporary Arabic fiction title in translation, and why?

There’s no required word count, so I imagine you could be fairly pithy. Or verbose, if you prefer. But you must send your answers, full name, and contact number to info@arabbritishcentre.org.uk by Thursday June 27 to qualify for the drawing. The winner will be picked at random and informed on the following day.

I promise I didn’t crowd up the pool by entering.

If you do win, I’m not sure you’ll have time to receive and read the book before al-Madhoun appears at Foyle’s Bookshop (113-119 Charing Cross Rd, London WC2H 0EB) on July 1 at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Shubbak Festival. The lovely Selma Dabbagh, author of Out of It, will be hosting a conversation with him, followed by a “complementary drinks reception.”

So! Enter now.

And while you’re at it, you might as well enter ArabLit’s summer books giveaway as well.
