Sunday Submissions: ‘Newfound’ Seeks Translations on Theme of In/Justice

Newfound magazine is seeking translation for their themed issue, “Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere”

The deadline is December 21, 2017. According to editors:

Our 2018 spring issue will explore injustice and its effects. This can mean work that explores exploitation/violation/manipulation of rights, autonomy, personhood, identity, the biosphere and animal kingdom, and more, as well as unjust spaces and their remains, and/or activities of those living in such environments. Like these blessedly radical words of Martin Luther King Jr., work can also represent transformative conditions.

We welcome political work for this issue.

About translations, they write:

Newfound welcomes translated work of any length or genre. More specifically, fiction can be stories or self-standing novel excerpts of any length. As for poetry, we will consider submissions of up to 6 poems totaling no more than 10 pages.

Include the work in its source language and any permissions necessary to publish both. You are welcome to include the URL of the original if published online in full, which we might simply link to.

Please submit a bio of the original author along with the bio of the translator.

If you want to submit your work, Newfound uses Submittable.
