Sunday Submissions: A Special Request from the American Literary Translators Association

This is to remind you that the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) has several deadlines coming up mid-month, and they would love to see some Arabic-language translators apply:

Editor’s note: So far as I know, there is no April fooling involved.

For emerging translators!

– Travel Fellowships (deadline April 16)

For translators who published a book in 2017. Note: While the translator has to be a US citizen or resident, the book doesn’t have to be published in the US.

– National Translation Award in Prose (deadline April 16)
– National Translation Award in Poetry (deadline April 16)

For translators of poetry who are looking for a publisher (and prize money):

– Cliff Becker Book Prize in Translation (deadline April 16)

For translators who want to hang with other translators at the ALTA conference in November:

– ALTA41 panel submission portal (deadline April 16)
– ALTA41 bilingual reading application (deadline May 16)
