ArabLit Quarterly’s Winter/Spring 2019 Issue Wins ‘Broken Pencil’ Award

ArabLit Quarterly’s Winter/Spring 2019 issue — The Strange — has won “best micro literary journal” at the 2019 BP Zine Awards:

Winners in eight categories were announced at Canzine Toronto at the Art Gallery of Ontario on September 14. Rasiqra Revulva judged the Litzine and Literary Microjournal categories; the latter had a five-magazine shortlist of magazines from based in the US, Canada, and Morocco.

The other four on the shortlist were:

Pulp Kings #2 (Micro Literary Journal) by Stray Books (Calgary, Alberta)

Gravitas (Vol. 18 Issue 2) by Andrew Lafleche (Eganville, Ontario)

Sunday Night Black & White – Issue #3 by The Sunday Night Bombers (Burlington, Ontario)

Tilde: A Literary Journal ~ (Issue 3) by Thirty West Publishing House (Norristown, Pennsylvania)

Founded in 2017, the BP Zine Award celebrates excellence in the world of independent magazines, with the goal of raising “awareness of the possibilities of independent zine publishing.”
