December 6 in London: A Discussion with Iraqi Poet and Novelist Fadhil al-Azzawi

On December 6, Banipal will host an informal discussion evening with Iraqi novelist and poet Fadhil al-Azzawi.

The discussion will be held at the Library and Meeting Room of the Arab British Centre and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Berlin-based Al-Azzawi has a long association with Banipal — his work has been published in a dozen different issues, reviewed in more, and he has helped edit the magazine.You could ask him about that.

He was also the  judging chair of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2011 (and the longlist for the 2013 prize will be out that morning) so you could ask him questions about that. (Here are a few things he said when he was a judge.)

Or, of course, you could ask him about his creative work, poetry or prose. Al-Azzawi’s works translated into English include:
