PalFest 2010 Program Announced Today

PalFest 2010—a literary festival that aims “to bring world class cultural events to Palestinian cities”—announced its May 2010 program today. The festival, which was founded by award-winning author Ahdaf Souief, will run from May 1st to 6th and will tour to Jerusalem, Nablus, Jenin, Bethlehem, Hebron and Ramallah.

PalFest also aims to “give Palestinian students access to some of the finest authors working in English today, and to create a forum for the exchange of ideas and stories between writers, readers and students.” This year’s program is online.

Authors include Susan Abulhawa, Nathalie Handal, Suad Amiry, Ahdaf Soueif, and Hisham Matar.

You can also see poems from PalFest participant Suheir Hammad on the organization’s YouTube channel, follow them on Twitter, and watch this space for 2010 author blogs.
