Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s summer reading challenge! And we still have a very worthy list of contemporary and not-so-contemporary titles, as we asked critics, professors, booksellers, writers and translators which five (Arabic) books they would suggest you must read “before you die.”

(You’d better get going; it’s quite a list.)
