Tahrir Book Fair Closes Early Friday

The Tahrir book fair—which experienced disappointing sales on its first day—closed early today because of the demonstrations in Midan Tahrir.
The fair was opened yesterday by culture minister Emad Aboghazy, and was set to run through April 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the AUC Campus. Entrance is free with a valid photo ID.
Blogger Amin Salleh, or “All Green Islamic,” blogged about the fair today in Malay. He has also published a number of excellent photos, which show that the Tahrir fair is not nearly as crowded as the annual Cairo International Book Fair.
Some mixed reviews, but generally positive:

The AUC Tahrir Book Fair: A beautiful sight: Wooden stands in green gardens, a booth that is spacious and not overcrowded.

AUC Tahrir Book Fair: Lebanon, Diwan, Shorouk, Akhbar El Youm, AUC Press itself, & more that I cannot recall. Books r mostly translations.

AUC Tahrir Book Fair: A medley of nationalities, a somewhat limited range of books, but definitely a consolation.
