In Cairo: Translating the Epic Murals of Tahrir
If you’re in Cairo, do stop in at this event: Translating the revolutionary spirit into images, translating those images into words (in Arabic and from there into English). When I was at the AUC’s downtown campus the other night, I couldn’t help taking photos of these walls. The stories told by the murals are mind-arresting; more on the “Seven Wonders of the Revolution” on Jadaliyya. And a few more of my photos below, not because I can properly frame them, just because I couldn’t help myself:
