If You’re in Cairo: Barbara Harlow to Speak on ‘Representations of Identity in Literature’
Barbara Harlow, who once taught at the American University in Cairo, will be returning for the keynote address of “Representations of Identity in Literature” on April 9:
Harlow has translated work by Jacques Derrida and Ghassan Kanafani (April 9 is the anniversary of Kanafani’s birth), and is the author of Resistance Literature, Barred: Women, Writing, and Political Detention, After Lives: Legacies of Revolutionary Writing, as well as the co-editor of Imperialism and Orientalism: A Documentary Sourcebook and Archives of Empire: Vol 1 and Vol 11.
