From the application:

GI_Logo_vertical_black_sRGBThe target of this program is to enable young publishers from the Arab World (especially from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia) to build up a professional E-Book Business in their respective countries.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend the Frankfurt Book Fair (9th to 13th of October) where they will meet and discuss with experts in the E-Book Business.

The program aims to help to develop professional competency among the publishers and to build bridges between Arab and German publishers. E-Books are a growing market in the Arab world as part of the transformation of the publishing sector and will serve to distribute publications in remote areas.

Travel expenses (to and within Germany) and accommodation while staying in Germany will be covered by the Goethe-Institut. This includes also food expenses.

Selected candidates will attend an Introductory Workshop which will be held in September 2013 in Cairo.

Applicants to the program should have:
1- Excellent knowledge of English. Basic knowledge of German will be an advantage.
2- Several years of experience in publishing
3- Applicants must be available for an introductory workshop in September and the one week long excursion to the book fair in October.

To apply, please fill in the application form below and return it by email to the contact below before 13th July 2013. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview (personal or via Skype) that will take place 17th or 18th of July.
