Sunday Submissions: Call for National Translation Awards Expert Readers in Poetry and Prose
This isn’t exactly a submission, but the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) is seeking expert readers for the 2016 National Translation Awards (NTA), including readers in Arabic:
The other languages where they need readers are Bulgarian, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.
According to a post on the ALTA website, “Expert readers will be provided with a PDF only of the book to be evaluated, and reader reports must be delivered by July 22.
“Per the NTA Policies and Procedures, to serve as an expert reader, a person must have expertise in the source language of the translation he/she is asked to assess, and have published at least one translated book.”
Anyone interested should email Aron Aji (aron-aji@uiowa.edu) by June 24 if interested, specifying the language and genre of focus.
