Sunday Submissions: Seeking ‘Unpublishable’ Translations
The publisher co•im•press is looking for your hitherto “unpublishable” book-length translations:
According to their submission guidelines:
Please submit literary translations of book-length works (48 manuscript pages or longer) in any literary genre from any language for consideration. Please accompany your submission with a cover letter that includes a translator biography, author biography, a brief statement that explains the value and timeliness of the translation, and a statement that explains why you think the book fits with co•im•press’s aesthetic and publishing mission.
co•im•press likes works in translation that are strange, transgressive, visceral-mystical, or “unpublishable” through traditional means. Translated authors the press has enjoyed recently include Kim Hyesoon (trans. Don Mee Choi), Aase Berg (trans. Johannes Göransson), Marosa di Giorgio (trans. Jeannine Marie Pitas), Tytti Heikennen (trans. Niina Pollari), Hiromi Itō (trans. Jeffrey Angles), Xavier Villarrutia (trans. Eliot Weinberger), Raul Zurita (trans. Daniel Borzutzky), and Alejandra Pizarnik (trans. Yvette Siegert), among many others. To find out more about the press, please purchase and read our books.
