Re. organizers looking for ideas: how about a cooking class for kids, and possible segue into a kids’ Arabic cookbook, done with a view to not only preserving history and tradition but also to being clear about real food vs. industrial food, and other issues of agricultural sustainability and justice. I would suggest that, wouldn’t I?

Can you fly out and lead a session? I’ve lost the Cairo “Slow Food” guy’s phone number! Been looking for it for months. Of course I can’t remember his name, either.
