Do you know a talented young person in year 6 or 7, who lives in the greater London area and composes poetry in Arabic? Are you such a person? This contest is for you:
“Mother Tongue Other Tongue” is a multi-lingual poetry project looking for remembered poems, performed poetry, and and newly composed poetry in Arabic, as well as in Chinese, French, Polish, Turkish and Somali.
The project is being managed by the Poetry Translation Centre, the Poetry Society, Camden Roundhouse and the Free Word Centre.
According to organizers:
The deadline for the receipt of entries is 5pm on Friday 20 September 2013. The winners will be invited to take part in a special prize-giving at the Roundhouse in Camden in October and may also be invited to take part in a national celebration event in Manchester in November.
