On Translation

How does conflict — and the news coverage thereof — influence literary translation? A panel of critics and writers at the London Book Fair, including Dr. Samia Mehrez and Robin Yassin-Kassab, will discuss what the LBF organizers call the “huge” number of Arab artists, writers, poets and activists that have come to our attention thanks to the art of translation, and presumably also how this shapes and limits the Arab artists on our horizon.
