“The few Tunisian novels which are available in translation made it into English thanks to the prizes that they won, or because of the curiosity the country attracted after the Arab Spring.”
Last week, organizers announced the 55 books from 14 participating countries nominated for the 2021 European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL).
The first prize, worth €20,000, will be equally divided between the winning author and translator. Two runners-up and their translators will receive a prize of €1,000 each.
