Applications must be received before December 12, 2019; they must “answer the application questions, provide an up-to-date CV and an extract of a recent translation (up to 1000 words).”
The £3,000 award is given annually for works “of imaginative and creative writing of literary merit and general interest.”
“Each commission recipient will receive: a $2,000 honorarium; eight to twelve months of artistic, editorial, and technical support; the possibility of using Triple Canopy’s Manhattan office and venue for an event devoted or related to the work; and archiving of the project by Triple Canopy in partnership with NYU’s Fales Library and Special Collections.”

To celebrate, the CTS is launching an anthology of essays built around lectures delivered at the center over the past ten years, titled In the Shoes of the Other: Interdisciplinary Essays in Translation Studies from Cairo, edited by Samia Mehrez.
